My friend feeds her horse a seaweed supplement. However she cant explain why she does (she was told to by the a feed specialist). I was just wondering what the benefits were.

It is a natural feed stuff so is easily digested. Also helps with coat & hoof condition.
Though make sure it is from Ireland from the west coast & not Vietnamese seaweed. As seaweed is a bottom feed it takes in the pollutants around it in the ground.
I have fed it for years to my dogs & horse. I also give them Apple cider vinegar & that is it for supplements as the cover everything & should you be OD'ing them the body just excretes it out so no build up or lock outs.

It contains a very broad spectrum of minerals. Shouldnt be fed to pregnant mares but in other horses it is good for vits and mins

I add it to my horse's feed - It helps promote a healthy coat and skin as well
