Why feel the need to Slate others methods???

I think one of the things people have a tendancy to forget when it comes to horses is that every horse, horse owner/trainer/rider etc and every circumstance is different. This generally means that it's very difficult to do things 'by the book' as it were. Methods need to be adapted to the situation. I've always felt there's some very useful ideas and information passed around on this forum and I take from it what I feel will be best for me. If I don't think it will work that particular time doesn't mean it won't work another. There's no point in taking offence :)

I had to take offence today though when I was told that because the pony has a light bed on rubber matting he stinks as do my dogs & myself!! This is from another user on here who I do not know!! Why they feel the need to be abusive I really don't know!!!!

Sometimes I feel frustrated when advice I've given has been rubbished by people who haven't given it a try - eg Using Nizerol on Mud Fever - it's brillient, painless and quick. I'm one of the oldies - well trained and been through the BHS & ABRS exam system. I'm a Pony Club B examiner and do honestly know my stuff. I like working my BHS way - I've found it full of common sense and its safe, and to date has not let me down. Yet here in NZ I've seen things done successfully in many different ways. Also some not so good too.

I do still read a lot and try to keep up with modern ideas - some of which I find quite hilarious! Horses are still horses no matter what year it is. Unfortunately it is also hard to convey emotions on the internet especially when you don't know how to put the 'emoticons' into the post. (Would love someone to help me there)

I enjoy coming on this site, hope that I contribute in a beneficial way and get help myself when I've run out of ideas.
