my horse is pretty relaxed, she has her moments and isnt a plod but tonight she was very spooky and wild to handle, im wondering if its the change with the weather??? what do u think?

Have you changed anything in her feed, even opening a new bag of your usual feed can sometimes cause problems. The company may have changed the formula or put a new ingredient in.

I've had the same thing on odd days over the last week, I don't know what it is, a gelding so can't blame it on being in season. An angel at a show on Sunday, but particularly spooky today.

I posted about a similar problem with my gelding a few wks ago after i swapped conditioning mix for ready mash, im putting it down to that but as hes looking better than ever im hoping he will get used to it and go back to his usual self soon. Maybe it is weather but only ever had a problem similar but more sever to it when i tried him with sugar beet once, never again! Lol carrots have this effect on alot of horses, has someone maybe bin giving your girl any treats you dont know about?

Most horses on our yard are doing silly things atm.

Friend and i went on a hack today and my mare bucked through the first two canter stretches her mare just about held it together. And although not same hack one of the girls fell off her mare and the normally sane throw a child on NF pony did a few bronks around the school.

Loads of the horses were playing zoomies up and down fences today as well.

I put it down to grass and the weather.

The last couple of nights have seen quite a lot of dew on the ground, so even if you hadn't had rain before your ride today, the grass will have had a sudden boost...couple that with today being slightly cooler after a little scorchathon and it's plenty reason enough for any horse to be feeling a bit full of beans :)
