Has anyone used the bayonet fitting and the screw fitting? Does the bayonet feel as safe? Does it really lock in so it won't just jig out if I'm jumping 14 hedges in a row like last week? Is that collar plastic?
Has it been tested for possible fracture under all conditions - like hunting when it's close to freezing for several hours?
The cynic in me wonders if P2 have simply put a plastic collar on the canister to ensure that you can't buy anyone else's because it won't fit the jacket? I can see no practical purpose to it at all, but instead the introduction of an additional possible point of failure.
I notice that they have also put flanges on the bottom of the trigger unit to screw it up, instead of (or as well as) using an allen key. Again, I'm concerned that hours of riding could knock the flanges and loosen the screw pressure. I'd like to see the testing that was done for that change, too.
That settles it for me, mine goes to Helite for service from now on, and unless I find out a darned good answer as to why they have done this, and how well it has been tested, then my recommendation to my friends will be to buy Helite or Hit Air.
