In September my boy cut his hind leg three months box rest off work etc, he has just come right and is starting to come right again the yesterday got him in from the field and he has sliced into one of his front hooves, Ivec cleaned it up and padded and wrapped it up now trying to get hold of farrier.
Poor boy looked so sad being left jin this morning sob

Poor boy bet he's feeling very low. I'd be taking a good field check if I were you if he's damaged himself twice in such a short amount of time?

I think you need a very big hug. How very upsetting to have an injured horse again. If I were you I would thoroughly check the field to see if there is anything obvious that might have caused the injury. I hope recovery goes smoothly and your horse is better soon.

Thank you both, my yard owner has also been amazing and changed all the fencing in the field after last time, i am going to have a good crawl over his field tonight after work, checking every single rock and mound etc. I think he is just accident prone, the not riding really is not a problem i just feel so sorry for him like im a bad owner or something

Oh no don't feel like that, sometimes it's just the way things go! My lurcher ripped open a pad on his foot last week and that healed now this morning he's done it again on another pad!! It's just one of those awful things. My cob comes in from the field with cuts and scrapes and there is absolutely no way of knowing where he's done it!! We have huge silly TB's out in the field who throw themselves around and do no damage then my lad who plods around quietly and he has cuts on his lips and nose (likely those are from sticking his face into bushes to find food!!!).

((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))

One thing I do know from reading here so often is that some horses just have a run of bad luck - but then they come thru it, and carry on. :) It's not just your horse, and I'm sure once this injury is sorted, all will be ok.

Keep us posted, shysmum.
