By all means, take it further with the police, their attitude is almost as bad as the biker's. See if you can get his insurance co's details from them as you may need to make a claim
and email/call them to tell them you are informing that you may be claiming if for instance once of the horses need vet treatment for stiffness/tendon pulls. TBH it's very unlikely you would be able to but it would affect his renewal premium in a negative fashion.
But as a consolation, you can pretty sure that he won't be on the road for long with his attitude - he only needs 6 points to lose his licence (even a provisional) and if that happens, even if he manages to get it back after 6 months his already extortionate insurance cost will rise above to a level that even the most doting parents can pay.Alternatively he will kill himself - there is a good reason that young men on bikes are known as Donor cycles - and I say this as somebody who's 20 yo brother was a whisker from being one of these statistics!
Still can't believe his parents <where's a shaky head smilie when you need one?> this lad must be at least 16 and I wonder are they still changing his nappy for him - scary thing is that if he carries on like he is they could easily have their "baby" back, nappies, wheelchair and all.
Glad that you all survived but do follow it up - he can't allowed to get away with this behaviour.
