Sally is an ex breeding large Roan Cocker Spaniel who has just finished bringing up her last litter, of 11 pups, the poor girl.
Sally is an absolute, adorable delight to be around. Sally has sniffed out every inch of the kitchen, utility, stairs and landing. She is very, very curious but very gentle in her movements. Every kitchen cupboard I have opened suddenly has her head in it. When I wash up she sits on one of the dog beds watching patiently. She does like to to pull herself up and will do so on the kitchen units so we spend time just lifting her off and I am sure she will soon get the message.
She manages the stairs fine which was a help for giving her a bath to clean her up. For the most part there was only 1 escape attempt from the bath, the rest of the time she stood very patiently.
I cannot believe she is 13 years old, she is like an every ready battery and just keeps going. Its like having much younger dog in the house. She is very gentle, sweet natured and no dog could possibly take a biscuit as gently as she does. She will come to you for a love and a fuss and sit whilst this is done, if you finish too soon a very gentle paw will rest itself onto your arm.
A special (and very lucky) person out there is waiting to give Sally her forever home, they won't be disappointed. Being fostered in Nailsea.''
13 years and have just had her last litter?! I really don't know what to say.

Can I swear ?!
Poor little bitch, on the assumption she was probably mated nearly season can you imagine how many puppies the poor girl has churned out
The foster carer says she is like an ever ready battery, more like a battery hen imo.
At that age and considering the number of puppies she has most likely provided them with through the years, I would really think she had earned her upkeep and deserved a honorable retirement, without being dumped at a rescue.
Some people really seems to do their best to give puppy mills a bad reputation (mills seems most appropriate since it all seems to be about churning out as many puppies as possible). But they do seem to treat their brood bitches completely equally, regardless if they are profitable or not, when they are of no use any more...
Geeta (tricoloured Cavalier King Charles Spaniel), all puppies in the litter was stillborn = not profitable = dumped at a rescue. Unsure of walking on normal floor inside a house, had a urinary tract infection and massively overgrown claws, one so bad that it had started to grow into her pad, house clean and wants to be with people or in her basket.
Evie (looks like a blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) only had one puppy each time she was mated = not profitable = owner dumped (they politely call it gave, but I don't feel the slightest polite) her at a rescue. She was born on a farm and have spent her life in a shed there. She is very tiny and very thin and needed to have all her teeth removed due to them all being completely rotten, actually her whole mouth was a bloody mess of abscesses and ulcers.
