Why is everyone so grouchy in CR?

OK - I'm sure I'll get shot down in flames (again) but I just have to ask.....why is everyone so grouchy at the moment?

Over the past couple of weeks there have been arguments, bickering, snide comments, etc, etc - all in CR! Now this is the sort of behaviour I've come to expect in NL, SB, etc (and that's why I'm generally too scared to venture in there) but, quite frankly, it's not what I've come to expect in here!

I've always found everyone to be helpful, lighthearted, friendly - I'd even go so far as to say....nice.....until now.

Is it the weather? Are we all missing eventing so much? Or are HHOers from 'other places' venturing in with the sole purpose of winding us all up.... ?

fwiw, I think it's the time of year and the weather. If it's not then I may well have to leave HHO (that's what you say when you've had enough of being on here

). However this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinions (that's what you say when you want to justify having an argument on here

m_m It's too quiet in my kitchen, hence why I've spent more time on HHO and posted when I wouldn't normally post, and had my head bitten off when I wouldn't normally have my head bitten off.....poor old me eh?

The CR 'group' has definitely expanded recently over the last month or so. Lots more new posters, and posts.

Like any groups - maybe it will take a while to settle and establish the 'pecking order'!!!

Frustration over the snow etc probably only adds fuel to the fire.

Hope it stops though - I like a quiet life.

I think CR is the most "civilised" forum on here. I've given up posting in soapbox pretty much as everything seems to deteriorate into an argument.

But yes, people are tetchy because of the time of year, snow, extra work mucking out horses that are stuck in, not earning money, canceled competitions, broken lorries, etc, etc, etc......

You're right Halfstep, there's so much to be tetchy about at the moment, but when I see all those (stabled) ponies' happy (aka hungry) faces, it makes it all worthwhile.

It's not just the riders - my ponies and cats are fighting too. Having spent my snow day off, grooming, massaging and pampering the grumpy nags, I've just returned home to find bits of fur exploded everywhere and two bald kitties sitting hopefully by the fridge. They were sorely disappointed that their loving owner got not cat food but booze out of said fridge... Roll on spring..
 
I haven't read the rest of this thread apart from a few at the top bt I a game for adrink at Gamebirds (geddit?!)

i think grouchiness comes down to the cr:p weather and the fact I have probably not been alone in hibernating the last couple of days

Personally I feel like sh|||te and not sure about others but why oh why can't it be a normal spring?

I'm not grouchy .... my horse had the most fantastic play in the snow this morning although it did take 5 times as long for me to get to the yard as usual and I was worn out by the time I got there. Anyway, the snow drops are out under the snow, the daffodils soon will be, the schedules are a dropping out of the internet, the birds are singing and I have been drinking (not really on the last one!).
 
Not long now guys March is within reach keep hopes up! I joined a short while ago and mistakenly posted in NL and was shot to bits I hastily retreated to CR where Ive found the response really friendly and helpful....there was some good banetr going on recently in the post 'how far would you go to get a ride' check it out if you want a giggle. A week from now all the snow will be gone, horses will be back in work and the first events will be looming Eeeeeeeeeeke can't wait

William looks superb, every inch the Fieldmaster's perfect mount. I think he should do some posh WH classes this summer. How old is he now?

I'm not grumpy! I think everyone's just loitering too much at the moment. Move along people (form an orderly queue at GB's kitchen door, she must be done soon with her roadkill).
 
I'm the other way round, i usually get grouchy when the season starts, as over the winter my horse manages to talk me into thinking that he's going oh so well, and then goes 'ha, got ya' when the first event comes round.. although he then carries that first event dressage test on throughout the whole season.. Not this year tho, i'm working out some new tricks myself.. so i'm gonna go 'ha, got ya' to him instead!

I'll be home in 45mins or so and am SO up for a drink. Have just had a client reduce me to tears (trust me, doesn't often happen) and I think I'm in shock. A drink could be just the thing. I almost raised a smile at Ross!

I am happier here in CR, even though comps are completely out of the question for a while. Its safe in here!!!!!
But I haven't noticed anyone being grumpy in here.... not compared to other rooms anyway.
But then I am usually reading through a hazy wine -induced stare as the eve goes on!!!

Obviously you should pm me if you want to keep your job by not slagging off your clients in public. Have a drink first, send OH for a takeaway (even if it will take him an hour and a half), then offload to Auntie Baydale. My shoulders are as broad as meardsall_millie's so it's no problem.

Not noticed a huge amount of grumpiness although i think everyone is maybe a bit on edge with the weather etc. I have been a bit frustrated with lack of riding and competitions but don't think i've taken it out on here.......having said that i do have my new sparkly diamond to keep me smiling!!!!!!!!!
