This topic didn't recieve a very warm welcome in the Soapbox so I thought it may recieve kinder responses from people here.

Why is it nessecary to bad mouth people when know one know's the facts of matters they are commenting on?

... because its human nature to form opinion and judge people without knowing the facts?

because in the horse world everyones an expert on everything?

because people are horrible and have nothing better to do?

O, but they DON'T.

Don't get me wrong, I have been as guilty as the next person in the past, when I too have judged people because I didn't know facts on matters but still allowed myself to form opinions that totally disgraced the person I was judging. Then when the truth was made known I was wishing I could take it all back. And to make matters worse, if I had bothered to look at things from different angels, which was very possible most of the time, I wouldn't have formed the opinions I had. Now however, I will not allow myself to form opinions about people without first, looking at other possibilities and seeing if they can stand under strong scrutiny.

I totally agree. However, this does not make it right.

Because sadly this is the real world, warts and all, and not fuzzy pink Lollipop Land. People are people the world over. Some are great and kind and helpful: some just keep their mouths shut and look the other way or whinge in private: some have inflated opinions on just about everything and mouth off to anyone who will listen. The way I see it, if I respected someone and their opinions/outlook on life then I'd want to hear what they had to say. But if I didn't, I wouldn't give a flipping hoot. Don't let it get you down bb. Choose your friends and ignore the rest. Keep smiling and enjoy the Forum. Loads of great people with a ton of experience on here that they will share at the drop of a hat. Loads of people with terrific soh that really cheeer me up. Odd few that you wonder what planet they are on but then I'm Box Of Frogs coz the other liveries at my yard reckon I'm as mad as one lol!!!!

I never have believed that we live in a fuzzy pink Lolliepop land. I am a woman of the world with experiences both good and bad.

Seems you have formed an opinion that I somehow believe we don't live in the real world.

Human nature to form an opinion on whatever information is available. ALL the facts are NEVER available because depending on the source, there will always be bias. As they say; history is always written by the winners...
I, for one, enjoy discussion and speculation as to what might've happened but I'm intelligent enough to realise I could be wrong.
Do you have an opinion on the McCann case? On Michael Jackson? On the OJ Simpson murder case or do you just go through life not wanting to form an opinion on anything?

I'm afraid you have no facts to substantiate that last statement and so I have to ask if you think it really necessary

I don't possess any fuzzy pink collections. My prize possession is my 11 hand pony which bears well on a 5 mile hack under my 14st, 6ft frame. Bet you wish you could say the same.

So is that the issue? What people have formed [bad] opinions about?

You riding your 11hh pony?

You said yourself that you'd made incorrect assumptions in the past, so what makes you think that you're the only one that can/should?

People make assumptions and have views on everything under the sun, it's the way the voice them that differs, and you can't expect people not to.
