Why is it so difficult

Early last year I advertised for a sharer for my horse and specified for experienced riders only, all I got was complete novices. I was prepared to let the right person ride whenever they wished and I did not want any contribution, just help with poo picking , grooming etc, no mucking out as my horses live out 24/7, just the usual day to day care on the days they came to the yard. Eventually I give up.

However my health has got so bad that I am looking to place my horse on full loan to stay on the yard, he needs to stay on the yard as he is company for my pony (they have their own paddock) and my horse is extremely attached to my pony. Plus the idea of letting him go off yard petrifies me as I hear so many stories of loan horses being sold without the owners knowledge.

When I was horseless I would have done anything to ride so why is it so hard to find a loanee.:(

Have you tried your local Uni? Quite a few students are good riders who had to give up on their own horses when starting Uni but would fancy riding without the full commitment.

Oooh so close, but just too far away. Im just the other side of Hanslope nr Nton and would love another horse to ride and look after. I have plenty of time on my hands but cant really justify the expense of running 2!
