Gettin really fed up of looking now :(

Went to try a horse the other day advertised as "safe and sound" ex racer.

Everything was going great untill we got into trot, then it started rearing as soon as I got a contact. Huff! Was devastated, was really gutted :(

So carried on looking and still can't find anything :(

Any advice?

Are you on Facebook? I am a member of a page that's for local horse owners/riders to me and here are very often lovely looking horses advertised for loan in it. Maybe there might be one local to you?
Preloved is also quite good for loans. My work has put several out on loan recently via Preloved.

I'm near gisburn! Only about 30 mins from burnley and looking for someone experienced to hack my welsh D a few times a week if that's any good?

Word of mouth is the best way I am finding. I am not looking but loaning one out and although his first loan home hasn't worked out he has been treated like a prince and I know that where he is off to next he will be again. As the owner it is reassuring to know the people he is going to, even if they are only the friend of a friend rather than a total stranger.

Do you have lots of horsey friends? If yes it is definitely worth asking them to keep an ear to the ground for you, likewise if you have a farrier and a vet (don't know if this is your first horse so you may not know these people yet ) they are well worth sounding out as they often know of lots of things going on in your local area :)

As someone else said your local horsey faceache groups won't be a bad place to look either. Best of luck. :)

Dolly mix.... I live in blacko on gisburn road! Lol. PM me :)

I am on Facebook, please will u tell me the name of the group :)

Thanks for the reply guys!

oh that a shame i am in warwickshire and have a nice connie pony for loan and 2 16.2 for loan or sale to go eventing. if loaning to stay at current yard all facilities/transport etc. keep looking

Well personally I would never loan again as I have twice been sent back lame ponies and the third time when she went against my better judgement the person loaning her had munchausens by proxy and she had no end of test at the vets hospital and they couldnt find anything wrong with her she came home I was so worried the whole time she was away.
Would never do it again if I couldnt afford the ponies I would have to sell if that didnt work then PTS as I wouldnt have the option for them to be returned

My loan boy found me, I remember seeing him but didn't know if he would be suitable so didn't contact his owner, then his owner contacted me through my advert. Turns out he's perfect for me, where I thought he may be a bit much, far from it in reality.

So glad I went to view him, and he was the first horse I went to see for full loan, had considered a part loan but the ones I had contacted had either been snapped up or were unsuitable.

I had spent a few weeks looking, but I think he was just meant to be.

Keep searching, and if you go see any more make sure the owner rides them first until your happy, if your not happy don't ride.

I found mine by putting an advert up on Preloved and a woman contacted me about her horse that was up for sale. I'd seen the horses advert but I wouldn't ask her to loan her out as she was quite expensive and gorgeous for an exracer! Turns out she would rather do a long term loan and I can have her until I go to uni! Guess my perfect horse found me :D:cool: Patience and persistence are the keys to finding a loan horse.

Quick update.... I put an advert out on preloved and a nice lady up the road had seen it, rang me up and asked if I wanted to go and have a look... went up, hes just beautiful, going to ride him on saturday and see where life takes us :) sooooo thankyou everyone who contacted me :D

xx
