why is it so hard?

Why is it so hard to find a horse for full loan?! I'm in the Vale of Glamorgan and all that's available are little Welsh cobs or off the track thoroughbreds, not what I'm looking for!
Could anyone recommend any good websites to look on? Also is this a nationwide problem or is it just because south Wales is poop horse-county?

I live in Powys and found 2 horses on loan without even realized I was looking for some .

Have a look at your local tack shop or Farmer suppliers (that's where I found our advert btw) and look on adtrader, there is a section for loans as well.

South Wales, poop horse country!!!

The place is crawling with horses of every imaginable shape and size, literally seething with the things, can't walk around a corner without falling over them... unless there has been a massive change in 5 years

What sort are you after? There are almost as many arabs (and therefore arab part breds) in Wales as there are cobs, dozens of studs of all kinds too, arab, welsh, part breds, traks, warmbloods, you name it.

Have you looked in the Welsh Rider magazine? (it is online and fb)

Looking for a competition horse sorta thing so warmblood or sports horse I suppose. Thanks hellokitty I'll have a look on the countrywide board today (that's all we've got round here )

You are looking for the type of horse most people will sell not loan.
You may find that someone going to uni. in October would let you have their horse,so maybe put a wanted ad.up somewhere and be prepared to wait until until they go.
