A cat will think nothing of waking their owner up at 5am, yowling, sitting next to them really quietly and then whacking them on the nose! And then leaping all round the bed 'pretending' there is something under the duvet it has to kill..............

And then spends the rest of the morning sulking cause it's having it's sleep disturbed ;-)

Who'd own a cat!!

And why do I feel guilty about shutting them out the bedroom therefore suffering what you both just said :(

Mine does the wet 3am thing too! Also likes to bring live prey into the bedroom in the middle of the night to murder! Last week he left the intact digestive system of a rat in the en suite, like something out of biology a level!!! Love him....;)

I'm thinkinh of employing a concierge for our back door cos although we have a cat flap and our cat does know how to use it, she insists that we open the door for her! :p

Funny you should mention this - mine are dreadful for waking us up during the night, usually for a play at about 2am. However, I got in late last night so the cats bedtime was delayed, therefore they (and I!) slept ALL night long until 8.30am - thats the longest sleep in I've had in months. Was most pleased with myself and the cats, in fact I had to kick THEM out of bed this morning (so cute too, lying right up against me undet the covers all cosy) :) :)

Why is it cats bring in a dead bird when estate agent #no1 comes round to value your house, then a live mouse and drops it at estate agent #no2 feet when trying to do a valuation.... I could write a book on these naughty felines!

I am so glad my cat is of the indoor variety!! She actually hates it outside and chooses to stay inside and tell birds / other cats she will kill them through the window.

She sleeps on the bed all night without a fuss, yells occassionally if she wants her servants to do something for her (food, clean her toilet etc) and all she chases / catches is her bird toy, bits of paper and she loves little bouncy balls. She isn't even interested in the guinea pigs!

The only things she murders are spiders which she eats :)

Hahaha, I can totally relate. One of ours is very good, he jumps up quietly and curls up on the bottom of the bed like a good boy....

The other one on the other hand! Leaps up, prodding you and miaowing and generally announcing his presence, once he's satisfied we are suitably awake then he'll curl up between us, purring away and fall asleep. :-)

But for some reason... I just can't get mad at him... he's so awesome :D :D :D

Yep, little Mini cat will wait for us to snuggle down in the bed & turn the TV off, basically the moment we are obviously trying to get to sleep, then jump up & start yowling & purring as loudly as she possibly can, gets under duvet, takes up far more room than a cat of her size needs etc. Then around 3 am Mister Tex the Tabby Terror brings in some manner of wildlife, which he promptly releases at the foot of the stairs, so the JRT goes nuts, then muggins here has to get up & dispose of it. Tex then goes back outside in a huff & catches some other unfortunate critter, which by the time I get up is in bits on the front door mat, or still alive & cowering in one of my boots/ inside the curtains/ in the downstairs loo, munching my TopSpec. *Sigh*, I loves them tho :)

Haha sounds familiar.

Our ragdoll wakes my Dad up at 4am by sniffing his face/ licking him!

I call him a poltergist as often you awaken to him crashing around/ him and the other cat snarling.

The other he woke me up at goodness knows when as he pulled open my sock drawer and was digging the contents out onto the floor. Funnily he didnt hang around to tidy them up!

Also awakeing to the unmistakable sounds of cat vomiting....

Ha ha I have 2, 1 insists on diving under the edge of the covers claws out to catch me at 5am ( great alarm clock when you need it, not when you don't!!) no 2 purrs at any slight movement insisting on sleeping on my head hogging the pillow with the purr directed in my ear  husband gets a restful nights sleep as they know I'm the soft target!! X
