Pens and Sellotape are compltely irresistible?

I kind of get Sellotape, the glue probably tastes quite nice if you're a dog, but pens

Otto goes to great lengths to steal them, including taking them from your hand whilst you write

which makes for some intersting styles of handwriting

I shouldn't be angry, not when he has just helped me pack for the weekend, no way would I have remembered to pack the two left shoes, soggy, chewed bit of cardboard, a comb, the top strip off the dog food bag or any of the other various, yet indispensibles items he brought me
grin.gif

He has also learnt a great new game
grin.gif

Occasionally (being the mature adult I am) whilst walking in the woods, I hide from OH. It's highly amusing to watch him look confused as he wonders where I am, but he has a new ally, Otto
mad.gif
If he asks him to find me, without fail Otto leads him straight to me, the little snitch!
grin.gif
I think he is considering a career in search and rescue

Hide and seek is the best ever.

The man who owns B's sire used to drive him to the woods with his handler, she would strap a miner's lamp on and run off and he would have to find her!
Exercises them and makes them use their nose and their brain, perfect!

Although one of his distant relatives used to disappear all the time because she thought **life** was a big hide and seek game - just because they played it in the park all the time, she thought that when her owner left the house and went to work, that was part of the game

Can't help you with the stationery obsession

Otto clearly felt that you weren't packing enough of his things for the weekend
grin.gif
!! Where are you camping for Burghley
confused.gif
?

As for the hide and seek - Sweep is not bright enough to play
blush.gif
.....if I hid he would just sit down where I left him until I reappeared and if I tried it here on the farm he would just get bored and take himself home to bed
grin.gif
......not sure what Max would do but am pretty sure it would involve chasing bunnies.....

We tried hiding and calling him to help with his recall, but it never really worked as he would come belting up to us and the carrying on belting past us!

The funniest thing is, at first OH didn't realise Otto had trotted off to show him where I was, he had just said it in jest, never expecting the dog to understand and do it!

Otto has far more packed than the average dog! He even has his own tent
grin.gif
Well it's actually just a fabric crate that he sleeps in

We are camping down the road from Stamford, near Thornhaugh.

Is it a proper campsite - or just one that exists for Burghley? I only wonder as I live about 7 miles from Stamford so am always being asked where people can stay/camp for Burghley!! I have considered charging for my garden.....

*toodles off to put together business plan - 'Dog friendly campsite near Burghley - with its own supply of bunnies'*

What do you think??
grin.gif
grin.gif

Ahhh Sacrewell - yes its a farm on the edge of Peterborough that does lambing etc for all the kidlets from Peterburgle to go too so they can see what happens in the countryside!! Have fun!!
grin.gif

Have just checked - Sweep is happy to share the bunnies as he will take a supervisory role in the proceedings and Max is completely overexcited at the word bunnies...............

You should let people park and charge them a fiver or something - £20 to park on Saturday is criminal but I have no idea where else I could park!

OMG - 20 quid to park on Saturday??!!!

I normally have a members ticket so go for all 4 days but this year due to the emergency purchase of a saddle I will only be going tomorrow - and its a tenner to park and I thought that was bad enough!! Its been ages since I have been in the 'public' side so will probably have a heart attack at how much it cost to get in.........

It's almost enough to make me not want to go
frown.gif
But I seem to remember they cone the verges off for miles so no chance of avoiding it I don't think (or knowing my luck my car would get totalled by some tractor or nicked!)

The whole of Stamford comes to a standstill - especially on the Saturday so you wouldn't be able to park any closer than a coupke of miles away. The only other thing you could do is park at Peterborough and get the train in to Stamford - about a 5 minute walk from the station and obviously no queues to leave and no mud to get stuck in.....I think a whole day at Peterborough is about £10 in the station car park or of course Oakham and get the train (same train, different direction) and the parking is free.
grin.gif

We always take the train on the saturday - never mind the cost of parking, its the miles of queuing I can't bear the thought of!!

The "help" has gone too far now
mad.gif

I just sorted out what clothes I'm taking (Lots, in an attempt to stay dry
grin.gif
) started to put them in the bag, cue Otto being IN the bag
mad.gif
I get him out and he then lies ON the clothes I am trying to pack
mad.gif

To top it off, I couldn't find one of the jumpers I had put out, thinking I am going mad I look again in the wardrobe, nope definately not there
confused.gif
All the while Otto is at my feet, "Helping" me look......

AT some point between me putting it on the bed and going to pack it, he had picked it up and put it in the spare room
crazy.gif
Strange little animal
grin.gif
I think he thinks we are leaving him again, so is trying to sabotage our efforts
grin.gif

I now have lots of jumpers packed, one complete with slobber
mad.gif
grin.gif

Aww, I should think he's excited
laugh.gif

Puppy used to get very upset and boycott whenever I started packing. Bless her. I don't think Pops would even notice
tongue.gif

Oh bless, have you not told him he's going too you mean woman?
mad.gif

Train costs £8.80, and Henry is welcome.... methinks I'll be taking the train.... just got to figure out how much stuff will go in my rucksack (I'm thinking wellies here)
