why is my horse lame!?

my boy has been on and off lame for about 2 weeks now, the 1st week in spent the weekend in on bute and came out sound, had a few days out in the field and then ridden, at only a walk. went out after being ridden then came out the stable lame this morning.

there hasnt been any heat or swelling in his legs, i thought the hind was slightly swollen this morning, but not excessive.

any ideas?

Could be any of a number of things - if it doesn't resolve itself with rest in the next few days, I would call the vet

yes we have been in contact with our vet, im pretty sure if hes not sound by monday she will be coming out to see him.

hes only ever been lame twice in the 15 years iv had him! its so unlike him
