so my dog- little Penny- Lilbon- knows her
She is biting herself. There are NO fleas of pests but it is the one spot on her back>???? its getting a liitle pink so will take her to the vets but any ideas??? its the one spot only that she is chewing?????!!! thanks,, its vry odd for my dog!!

Could be that she has a problem with anal glands, I know that she is biting her back but that might be the part that she can reach. If it is anals it is easily sorted out.

Could be stress of living wiv u or, you need to feed her hun LOL

If it's just the one spot it sounds like a "hot spot" to me. I've just had a look in my notes and it describes these as "highly pruritic (itchy) well defined red exudative erosions, often caused by self-trauma (usually biting). Usually seen on rump or face". Apparently they can be caused by flea bite allergy, anal sac problems (as mentioned above), or some kind of dermatitis. They can get quite severe quite quickly, so if she keeps at it, I would take her to a vet and see if they can find out the underlying cause.

Please note, I am only a vet student, not a qualified person yet, so my advice may not be totally accurate!
