why is there always one person who has to shoot you down

Big hugs

I feel for you.

I wear the hair shirt too - I have an EPSM lami, who lives naked, turns out in rain, snow, hail regardless, only eats soaked hay and low sugar mush, never has treats or lickits. She is at livery on a yard where most horses live in, are clipped and wear loads of rugs even when its warm. Even the ponies.

I have learnt to ignore them, especially as their horses are usually lame and cost a fortune at the vets.

Thats human nature, unfortunately the horse world is full of people who like the sound of their own voices and think they know everything.
The best thing is to smile at them, say hello and take pride in the fact that your horse is loved, well cared for and couldnt want for anything.

My family has always had horses my dad point to points so is very experienced he would never make a comment to anyone criticising them or thier horse if asked he would give advice to help. He only rides the most finely bred tbs but i have all breeds and he likes the hairies just as much as he says hansdome is as handsome does.

What i am trying to say but waffling we all have ridden since children in my family but we have been taught you can always learn and you should help anyone if you can, you will find the ones who make the most snide comments are the ones who know the least.

I ride all types so love them all but even my dad who only ride tbs says one of his best days hunting was on our hairy piebald from his riding school, real horse lovers and riders like all types of horses and if you are taking good care of your horse they shouldnt comment.

People who make these kind of comments do this because of thier own doubts in thier own abilities sod them smile at them and ignore ignore ignore, dont let them spoil you fun with your horse.:)

thanks guys you have cheered me up :)
said person managed to upset me when i said to a few friends i was planning on turning math into a full on working hunter horse and make him actually look like a welsh .. instead of being polite she laughted her head of and said it would be easier if i won a m&m class with a ex racehorse.. she then flounced of .. said rider has a grudge against me from the day i decided to try working hunter and beat her and her horse .. i then went on to take champion and she took reserve.
i never take things to heart just these past months me and math have gone round in circles and recently i did realise its my fault hence me bombarding you all with posts haha but i plan on getting to a county show (not winning ) just getting there. So it felt like a real blow because there is a tiny part of me thats says you cant do it.
but i will defo be letting things go over my head
would be ok if she was a top rider but she classes winning best turned out as one of her horses best skills ¬¬ anyway i wont slag her off anymore i feel im abit more mature at 18 than she is age 20

Jealousy's a b*tch, and there's party poopers in every facet of life... best thing I've found is to remain happy and smiling, and prove their dumb-wit snide statements wrong. There's nothing snidey people hate more than failing to get a reaction out of someone 80)

Keep your chin up. The best way to get back at her is by acting like you don't care and by doing so you are giving her no power. I know it's hard, I have people telling me to sell my horse almost every day :)
