If you check out the Primary School thread you will see that apparently those of us who have been larking about are small minded and sad.

Well thank you Rosie whatever your name is, but actually I am not small minded, I'll leave that to you.

I am sad, as my little welshie has just been diagnosed blind in one eye and not long to go in the other, and I am missing my daughter who is away. Quite a few of the other people fooling around on threads have troubles of their own, Mrs Mozart for one that I know of.

And I have an appallingly bad back so I am not that mobile at the moment. I am not on here often, but when I am, I am usually cheered up beyond measure, as I was today.

Until you came along.

Just exactly who died and left you in charge?

I tried to start a food fight in the 'too fat to ride thread' to lighten the mood :p

People need to chill! Just by reading the titles you can tell which posts are going to be stupid, silly or pointless. Just don't click on them.

Easy! :D

Dont let it bother you hun, hugs cheery up. I just ignore that kind of thing i'm of the live and let live mindset :D x

Well, it's like primary school really. You remember - when you and all your friends were having a good time and being silly and then some nasty person who was probably jealous of all the fun came along and tried to ruin it. ;)

Some people just can't stand to see other people enjoying themselves.

It's the new format that annoys me and maybe whats upset some people. With so many of these threads being started they are pushing other peoples genuin questions off the page very fast and some people don't bother to look passed afew pages.

Please don't linch me i'm just pointing this out. I don't want to be a kill joy honest :p ;) :D :D

Haven't taken offense by anything but must agree, most of us DO have troubles of our own. Between popping out to take care of the horse I am caring for my autistic, epileptic, nappy-wearing 5 year old which includes more 'mucking out' than Mo ever needs and weekly trips to A&E for Status/seizures. When I'm not thus engaged I sit on disability rights for parents and carers forum here in Swansea, and chase around my 2 yr old who is also under assessment for autism.

All very boring for a horse forum, I'm sure, but I can assure everyone that most people do have their own difficulties, all fun threads and joking aside :)

Its a jolly old life.

i am very sorry to hear of your pony,genuinely- i am sad too, as i am permanently disabled and can do nothing for myself, but, i have been accused in the past of attention seeking,so will say no more on the subject.i rely on my computer to get me through the day and i thought these posts were very immature, but there you are, i am wrong.

Yes, but ... on this and other forums (oh yes, I do have a life, and mix in other circles too you know!) and in real life - workplace, friends etc - these outbursts of hilarity are short lived and only cause a very little disruption.

The news is grim again, tragic disasters all around us, economic gloom, many of us as Mo'sMum said with more than enough on our plates that we DON'T go on about.

A little fun and hilarity. It keeps you going. I've answered serious questions amid the daftness and I'm sure others have too. I just don't like sour grapes and name calling, and for that matter people who say either 'I have nothing more to say' or 'end of' much less both of those in the same post!

Within the rules, we can all say what we like.

You're not wrong, Rosie. :D You're just assuming immature posts come from immature people, rather than people just trying to keep their peckers up.
And in fairness, I am assuming your rather bitter and snappy posts are from a bitter and snappy person, rather than someone who's just had a cack day and isn't in the mood.
So, sorry about that.

I too enjoy some of the silly posts, they lighten the day. If I dont feel like joining in I just move on. I am feeling so weary today it took a while to realise that some of he posts were jokes

Hi Rosie

I think alot of people, myself included, like to enjoy a bit of a giggle on here from time to time. Most of us have problems and many of us find life a real struggle so to be able to escape from the real world for a bit is in itself a bit of a relief.

I would however, treat a serious post accordingly and offer advice if I think I can.

I had rotten news this weekend and came online to browseand to take my mind off things -
the posts really really made me smile and cheer up :)

If they change their settings then they can have more threads to a page, so they will be lost less quickly.

Just a thought.

S_A - i have really laughed so much today it's been one to remember! This is the forum at it's best imho - having a loopy lu sort of day with totally random loopy threads does take your mind off other stuff. If nothing else it's team building and very fattening, with all this food and booze going round ;)

Well I work full time, have young son and 4 horses to work with but iv found time in my day to use my phone and join in with THE FUN.
Seriously if you have your computer as entertainment for the day I would have thought you would have enjoyed a bit off fun and laughter???

I cant believe there's so many posts having a go at people obviously having a laugh and a joke, yet when people decide to attack and write nasty posts there's never quite this much uproar!!

It's funny!!! these posts have kept most of us sane today, so what? Why is that a problem?
Like others I've also viewed and replied to serious posts, are we not allowed one day of immaturity :D

Were all different people with different personalities, bound to be some of us who enjoy some crazy banter. It's harmless and if the title of the thread looks dubious to those who don't like silliness, then don;t click on it. We can all get along surely! :)

I've had a good laugh at all the too fat, too thin, too ugly threads, it's definately brighten up my day.

Well I will admit to having many days of immaturity :) But then I have had to deal with a lot of serious upsetting traumatic things in my life, so rather than let it turn me into a bitter, miserable old bag (which I can be sometimes :D) I try to see the postive in things, and like I to laugh, these threads make me laugh. I bet people would prefer that to me posting threads about being miserable.

Well I'm at fault too though.
I've already beat myself up once today for not realising how different people can be, and then I wade in in a strop because someone is .. well .. different.

The trouble is, some of us, I guess had had enough of the repetitive weight threads - and our way of saying so was to gently take the wossername. So we all started posting silly threads about weight etc.

It did go over the top, but oh my goodness it was funny.

Now Rosie didn't find it funny, and since she didn't find it funny, she wasn't going to object to it by ribbing us - so she complained in her own way. What she really should have done was ignore it.

But then again, what I really should have done was ignore her objection, we're all free to say what we like.

Rosie assumed we were all immature idiots, when in fact we were mostly just covering up a whole load of pain and stress, and I assumed she was a kill joy when in actual fact, she probably just had a bad day and didn't feel like it.

Sorry Rosie.

Some people on this forum seem to have an awful lot of bad days, being spiteful and tactless then ... and not all nasty comments can be attributed to they're 'having a bad day'. IMO they are nasty and spiteful people - read through their posts and there appears to be a pattern.

thank you for your understanding- unfortunately every day is a bad day for me, and never pain free, but as i said before i have been accused of using my disability for gaining sympathy, which i do not want. i apologised last night for my "stupid" thread and just wish it to be left, if it carries on then i will permanently log out which i dont want to do, as i enjoy the forum.

I thought it was more to do with us being immature and silly? Perhaps I got that wrong then. Although i'm sure school holidays was mentioned.

Live and let live I say, i'm never going to be the sensible type (unless called for of course :D) You only have t meet my mother to understand why. Lifes too short and we can all get along if we let the little things go.

We do all have bad days! Don't permanently log out, no one wants that! You have a lot to offer this forum and just because you don't like silliness and us loonies :D doesn't mean you shouldn't be here. Perhaps just not read the threads you deem childish. It is only harmless fun and I personally would not want to annoy people, but I feel you don't have to read if you dont want to. Continue enjoying the forum! :) It'll be left now as it's just not that important is it, really :D

rosie don't go ! I do feel for you, as i think most of us do. I'm not in the best of health myself, but this forum is a bit of escape, a natter about horses, and quite often has healthy debates going on ! Everyone has bad days, some more than most admittedly, but that's just forum dynamics for you.

Hope u r ok, sm x
