Ooh exciting FM, he looks lovely - not that I’m copying you or anything but having a look at an unbacked 4 yr old tomorrow ?
Trying not to get excited as super competition prospect didn’t happen but keeping everything crossed for this one ??

Floofball - how did your viewing go?
I'm getting excited/nervous... just got a few more sleeps before he arrives. Got the farrier booked in, and a tube of relaquine on standby to help. His feet really do need to be seen before I can do anything - or I would have spent a couple of weeks or so handling to help my lovely farrier. I found his older full brother and have been chatting to his owner. Very smart horse, I might just have got lucky if Freddie turns out like him!

I wanted a cobby type, sane, chilled-out happy hacker for some relaxing strolls through the countryside...getting back into horses after 10+yrs thought that was sensible too...

..ended up with pregnant half arab/welsh headstrong mare carrying 3/4 egyptian arab colt! ?? one of my (many) finest stupid life decisions.... steep vertical uphill learning curve then rapidly began...certainly made life..erm interesting! ?

He looks lovely. My fell was a worrier with her feet, I used a sweeping brush to desensitise her back ones as I didn’t fancy being booted! Hopefully once he realises what you’re wanting from him he won’t mind so much. Have fun with him!

The viewing went so well I brought him home Wednesday!! ?
Farrier booked next Wednesday then vetting Friday for insurance. He’s lovely and very polite and also has some amazing half siblings so I’m hoping he’s a little diamond in the rough too ?????? He’s not put a hoof wrong so far, I’m very excited about him ??
Bet you can’t wait for Freddie’s arrival, I’m sure he’ll be fine ?

He loved the fuss, and the pony nuts!!, but was quite cautious of his legs being touched - the hinds out of bounds for now. His feet haven't been touched in about 2 years.
I bought an unhandled New Forest 2 year old who hated back legs being touched. Bought a book "No fear, No force" and followed recommendation of rubbing all over with feather duster!she would nicker when I rub her with it. Very sweet. Worked a treat and pony was easy to handle pretty quickly and now loves attention.

Amazing what might be in a field down the road! He seems to be settling in very well, so far he’s been quite sweet and polite ????

Well done Floofball. The only part I got right in my search (and it was by chance) was buying a bay with a white star, 11 years old. I wanted an armchair canter, safe to hack alone, non-spooky and able to jump - only thing I got from this list was the jumping part. Wouldn't swap her for the world though as she and I 'get' each other
