WHY must I be so un-photogenic?

I have just seem some pretty awful photos of myself on my lad!

I am a size 10/12 but well built not thin, I'm 5"4 and I ride a 16.2 shirex who I'd say is medium-heavy weight.

I STILL MANAGE TO LOOK A BLOB. Like all the time! IMO my position is good-ish, I was taught by an amazing instructor to sit properly when I was like 12, so I like to think that I actually don't look like a sack of potatoes when riding (possibly an insane midget on a tank?), MUH?!

Granted in the particular photo in question I am wearing a body protector that isn't mine, I'm slouching over after xc having a chat to a smaller pone and gawping.

But I just seem to look awful in ALL photos, or get captured at the wrong moment!
Bleurgh. Anyone else care to share unflattering photos of themselves on a horse or otherwise to make me feel better? *cries*

Babycham with glacier cherry for all!

I am the most un-photogenic person I know, I can manage to look obese, seriously more ugly than normal and drunk at the same time, I hate cameras. They are mean, how is it that other people can look fab, but every time the lense is pointed at me, I can break it!!!! Just not fair, wish I knew how to airbrush pics!!!

Oh god yes. In all of the pictures of me riding I look like a boy! :o At least I'm mostly covered up and have my hat down practically over my eyes, I look even worse in non horsey photos!!! It is unfortunate!!!

Hey SLB....I bet you are just being too hard on yourself! I fully appreciate how you feel though as I hate all pics of me. It sounds like on some of the pics you've seen you have just been caught at a bad moment .....and this happens to everyone. Hopefully you'll see some nice moments caught on film soon. Sxx

God, I hate it. It's like the person I see in the mirror, isn't the same person in the photos!

I think the person who published the photos on fb, might have even left some out as they were that bad! haha :(

Eff my life. I really do feel like I ruin photos, everyone else looks fab and I'm there in the middle looking like jabba the hut. I don't think I'm ugly or anything (not blowing my own horn here, just showing that I'm not self pitying...), but in photos I really really do look bad/large. I also look really young, like the same as I did when I was 15 (I'm 20), just fatter.

I mean, I knew I had put on a bit of weight over the winter, BUT SERIOUSLY.

Glad to know it's not just me. I'd post but so ashamed.... :P

post up some pictures! I'm sure it's not as bad as you think... here's one of me on my boy i posted in another thread... I'm about 5 ft 10 and a dress size 12/14... compared to all my petite pretty friends i look like a monster... but my horse makes me feel like a real woman haha

Roshah! That's a nice photo, you look really slim! You are sitting up nice and tall too, I never get captured doing this...

I can't post it, I don't want to be known as the ogre of the forum haha. :D

I wouldn't say it if it wasn't that bad either haha. Luckily I can laugh about it hehe, I might post If I can find an ok photo to compare it too, probably one I took myself haha!

I love being the one that takes the photo - that way I'm not on it!
Thankfully Bea throws his head in the air just in time for the camera, then the attention is swayed from my ugly mug!

you know, i think you're probably being too hard on yourself... your horse looks incredible if its the same one as in your avatar.

Don't know if you've tried this but take a video from a good quality camera and then go through it and take some stills from the footage... I used that technique to get this photo of me and my old horse in gallop...

I understand completely! My sister-in-law who I get on great with is at least 3 sizes larger than me but she is so photogenic. I hate having my photo taken because they are awful!

Add to that a horse that is camera shy and you rarely get a decent photo. But I always end up laughing because my boy's antics trying to evade the camera are hysterical! He literally will hide his head, try to spin around, throw his head up, anything so that he doesn't end up on film.

roshah I will have to try that, that photo is awesome!

My lad is gorgeous, he was bred for dressage and is just such an amazing mover!
My good friends twin sister is a professional photographer, so will have to get her on the case.
