Ok, so this is the advert in the paper this week, word for word, minus phone no's obv.
I had been expecting at least a few phone calls, have I not worded it well or am I missing something?

any competition record? why selling?

price seems a bit high to me, but I'm not very up on current prices.

Aye, it's local horsey paper, pretty much everyone reads it. Any longer than that is really pushing it, that's one of the longer ads in,so can't put too much more in, although can shorten it.
Does the sj/hunted, evented not suggest that he has a record to you? Should I put what level to (novice affiliated, sjai to 1.10)
I don't think it reads all that well, it needs to convey that he has a huge wealth of experience, but he's not a world beater, prob 1.10 is his max I'd guess, though could be wrong, any suggestions for how to change it to put in next week?

why not advertise on horsedeals/hh etc??? or if you wanted to keep local RC newsletters and tack shops??

if i saw this a month ago i'd be on the phone staight away

This is the local paper, should go to the tackshops, right enough. Just making sure that I've not shot myself in the foot byh having a rubbish ad lol
I have an online ad as well, if anyone would advise on that? I don't want to post on here and be accused of advertising :P (would pm address happily though!)

i have had 2 calls about my girl since i put her in the horsemart on monday!!! both were compeletly unsuitable but there are still calls, maybe worth advertising yours in there

Me too, I would wonder how the horse had been treated previously.

I agree with this too. There just isn't enough detail to justify the price, at this age I would expect a schoolmaster and evidence that he knows his job. And TBH no local paper has a wide enough readership, I would suggest that you advertise on HorseMart or similar

I understand what you're saying, coming from England, but I'm fairly sure that the majority of people looking for a horse will have a peek in the Farm Week in NI, whereas horsemart etc. you rarely see NI horses on, IME

Seems to have sorted itself out, got a couple of calls and one saw him today and loved him, another is someone I actually now and think he would suit, but we'll see!
He is a schoolmaster and does know his job, it's conveying that without paying a fortune!
