Why no interest?

I have no idea where they got the price from to be honest. Probably a mixture of what she has done/what she is capable of and the fact that she is safe enough for children to pc and a nervous granny to rc whilst being easy to do etc.

After everyones comments i think they will have to drop the price.

From what you say she sounds like she is a really nice pony, but they do need to 'prove' a bit more what she is capable of to get the best price for her. You say she would easily do an intro so I presume she has done XC competitions or XC schooling with previous owner, and is confident with water and ditches. If that is the case then it needs to be mentioned in the ad.

At the moment, from the photos it looks like she is a pony that jumps a course of plain poles at home (I know one photo was actually at a comp but doesn't actually look like that on the ad). Lots of ponies can do that, but fail to produce the goods when taken out and asked to jump planks, filler, walls etc. So you need to show that she can do that.

If you could get her to go double clear at a local showjumping and also do a Prelim dressage test, and you know she has done XC, you could put something like the following in the ad:

"Only lightly competed, but gained double clear over 75cm, 65% in Prelim dressage and has XC schooled, proving confident over all fences including ditches and water"

which I think would pull a lot more people in to view her.

Hope they find a good home for her.

She looks a really lovely pony, BUT she is not a 5K pony until she has proven herself.
From the short videoclip of her flatwork I really feel you would be very much mis-leading potential buyers by saying she has excellent flatwork. In my mind she looks very unestablished.

I like her jump but again she needs to go out and prove herself and her jump didn't look massively scopey.

I really think you are looking at around the 3K mark for her as she is at the moment.

Thankyou to everyone who has replied, you have all made valid points that i will pass on to the owners.

At the end of the day i agree with the majority of things people have said but she isn't mine and i can only politely suggest these things to the owners.

Once again thank you very much for all your help!

Are they flexible on the price? As I would have thought from the description and photos that it is probably not worth that much, and when you compare to what else you can get for that price, I think they need to drop it and then be prepared to drop when buyers phone. I always think if there is no interest the pony is priced too high.

I think she looks a nice pony - particularly honest jumper by the looks of it.

However as has been said, the pictures in the ad don't show her off well at all - I'd want pictures in daylight, showing her over a substantial sized fence, preferably with a filler, a better flatwork picture and maybe a conformation shot as well.

As it stands now, she's worth probably around 3k in my view - with a bit more work on flatwork and some competition results then worth nearer 4k, but with so many horses on the market, you have to show off your horse to its best to entice the buyers.

Ditto everyone else. I thought about phoning as looks like nice technique in second photo but the poor first photo and lack of competition record or competition photos made me assume that she came from an unknowledgable home or one who hadn't had her for long. Apologies for wrong assumptions, but when you're browsing lots of ads some just don't hand together well.
