Funny thing is I'm a full livery on a yard where I choose to feed my horses their evening feed myself. The reason is simple. If they are fed with the others I cannot ride in the evening because the owner feeds just before going in for the night - just before I get there after work. Also, if they are fed for me, there is no flexibility in feeding regime if I choose not to ride and give them a couple of days off.
I'm not saying they don't 'mind' - but they do recognise their routine and my two look to me to be fed in the evening, not the yo and the other horses know I don't feed them and simply ignore me - is that being mean?
