It is nice to see that there are so many other people out there with an ounce of common sense about this whole 'french rescue' business!
I have said time and time again that this is just a few clever people realising that some of us brits walk about with rose tinted specs on thinking that they are honestly bettering some horses life and making a difference.
There are enough horses in this country that need our help and I would go as far as to say that I would never reward the breeding of 'crap' (waiting to be shot down!!) horses by buying one - if people will only buy quality, there will be no market for these poor sickly creatures.
There will always be a horse meat trade, that is a fact of life. I personally have no problem with it as long as the horse has been brought up well and slaughtered with respect, the same as any other animal.
Another fact of life is that there will always be people that believe any old sob story that is told to them, and in this situation, rather then reducing the number of horses needing rescuing in France, they only succeed in increasing that number in the UK.
