Lol Brilliant! Mines has taught himself a new trick - break out and go stand next to the straw bale where his turnout rug is hanging.

Could have pottered off to the field but Noooo... had the sense to wait to get his rug changed.

Had to then drag him back into his stable and tell him he was staying in till lunchtime too. Didn't look happy!

Funny you should say that! I posted a pic on another thread, of the little madam herself, trying to eyeball us into giving her something to eat. She's not a mini, but the aging remains of a little show pony. The feedroom door is the same height as the stable doors, so you can see why surgery had to be performed on hers!

She's not eyeballing for food. She's clearly saying "FFS mum, he's in my stable again"

Lol maybe my mare was a bit more intelligent, she used to bring herself in and put herself out every day, only once did we have walkabout which was when a kindly pheasant shot out of the hedge and sent her cantering off down the lane before she realised shed went the wrong way and promptly came cantering back nickering to herself haha

She SO was! That's the feedroom door, and she pretty much lives there! She's a little monkey, but so cute that she gets away with it!

Quite possibly! Although the stables are the same size - hers is just optimised for short arsedness!!

Perhaps you could get a stable or arena mirror for him to look in for a moment. He obviously doesn't know what he looks like to others.

Soo cute there is nothing that matches stolen hay ever ... apart from stolen dinner Mine are in the yard at the moment and I had company in the feed room today when I was getting the treats out .. I now know to close the door in future as she had to reverse out

I was foiled this evening. Got up there and the YO had already brought him in. He was standing by the gate fluttering his nostrils at her - the big tart!

Apparently, he mooched straight in, stopped for a chat with a couple of the others, then inserted himself in his own stable. He knew where he was supposed to be all along really!

Useless creature!!

Tried letting him turn himself out this morning, and it was an epic fail! He detoured round the side of the stables, hid behind the tractor, and wouldn't come out, even when tempted with carrots. Once removed, he then dived for the grass, and had to be captured and dragged out to the track.
