Some people just like trouble.
I don't know why, I have enough problem just paying attention to getting my own stuff done properly.
I think SOME people are really looking for validation. They don't butt in because they honestly want to educate, they want the people they "help" to be grateful and tell them how wonderful ("right") they are. I suspect this often comes from either doubting one is, in fact, perfect or because one is looking for bolstering in one area to make up for something else.
But if people are secure in the way they do things and happy in the results they usually don't have to keep checking and are much more likely to live and let live. I find most people who are really, really good at something are well aware not only that they aren't perfect but that other people might be "right" too and it takes nothing away from their own accomplishments.
But maybe that's harsh. I'm still going with some people just like to create a stir.
