I just can't believe that the RSPCA can't oversee the rehoming of these animals..
To be honest I think that is appaling.
As for the donkeys and shetlands being returned to the Grays, if they werne't in danger fair enough, I'm sure the RSPCA will be keeping a beady lil eye on them..

I sincerely hope the RSPCA keep a very close eye on the ones being returned and at the first hint of something wrong take them away again

These animals will instead be sold at auction in May in Warwickshire - I was unaware there was an auction in Warwickshire, ie like Melton, so assume it is not going to be a general auction, therefore may not be that traumatic for them. I am also sure the RSPCA will be keeping watch.
 
Where will the money from the sale of these horses go, to JG or will the Rescue centres who have put time and effort and resources into making these animals fit and well enough for sale be reinbursed.
If JG, I can almost imagine a certain type of people thinking okay, buy some poor horses mistreat them, get ILPH or someone to rescue them, get them fit and then win them back in a court case, sell at auction, make a profit.
 
I think that this may well signal the end of animal welfare laws in this country.

It is a very, very, very sad day.............
 
What, in the name of all that's sane, does a person have to do to get
a) prosecuted hard for mistreating animals,
b) a lifetime ban on keeping animals,
c) any unfortunate animal they still have removed from them?

I'd say the law is an ass, but asses seem to show considerably more intelligence than the judge in this case.

I think as Amymay has said ,it is indeed a very sad day,the giving back of any animal to JG makes a mockery of the whole rescue, its a slap in the face to all those who helped those poor horses and I would have thought that unless the auction is well supervised and the homes vetted the poor horses could well suffer all over again.

I'm not for healthy horses being PTS but with this happening it may have been the best thing for them .

Its an absolute disgrace and to me sends out completely the wrong message to all those that continue to mistreat any animal.
 
I am in no way standing up for Jamie Grey, but we do NOT have any proof that he is guilty of mistreating any horses - yet.
