Why?!!

some people!!!

Makes you want to buy them just to give them some peace !!
I didn't realise that you had to stand on horses to sell them

Don't see what the problem is. How is it any different from that prat they have riding his horses around at Olympia?

[ QUOTE ]
I just don't see the point in it to be honest. The second one looks a bit grumpy about it.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes I agree it does. So would I.............

The point for me is that I sell horses who will not flap at anything - they will not react in new situations - and are trustworthy with whatever you plan to do with them.

Having said that; I would never use a photo of doing this in my adverts LOL!! I ask good money for my horses and am seen as a professional.....these people look like clots to me; people generally want a higher calibre of horse which has good paces and conformation.....being able to do stuff like this is an added bonus and has no place in an advert for a serious prospect.

God we used to do that with our pones too!! Isnt it what vaulting is anyway, apart from more people standing on them?

We used to ride our ponied backwards too in a headcollar. We used to have trotting on our ponied backwards races!

Never did us or them any harm....

It sounds like you could do wonder for my "precious dressage horse" he doesn't like "STUFF" !!! This is quite a wide category - the world is a very scary place hehe Saying that, as long as he was eating his food, I could probably just about stand on his back
grin.gif

I'd actually completely forgotten that my friend & I used to do this sort of stuff with our ponies too, altho I can't for the life of me remember why... Must have been fun at the time... Altho I DON'T think I'd have tried it with Cat...

. I might try it with my Welshie later for old times sake, althugh being older, creakier, and heavier I probably best not.

I don't really see the harm as long its not hurting them. I used to do stupid things like that with Chex until he walked away one day and I fell off
smirk.gif

i wouldn't put the piccys in an advert but i am one for doing all that stuff lol and anything else that makes riding erm...different lol i have seen a lad try to like leap frog from behind onto a cob and all i can say was i bet it hurt pmsl!!!!

You think thats bad !

Look at this poor pony

Well, he's quiet anyway. Turn him away and let him grow up and he'd probably turn out no worse for it.

I used to climb all over my ponies too.

That particular photo of someone standing on them wouldn't put me off enquiring. I have used a Fancy Dress photo (as a second picture) for an ad before but it was relevant to the "kidproofness" of the particular pony, in fact, every single person who called said it was what made them call.

When we went to see ours we were shown photos of him doing al sorts of things. Even being let loose in the garden with toddlers running round at a kid's birthday party. And yes, that's what clinched the deal!!
At the end of it people want horses that are unflappable, and I don't see that that advert is cruel or anything. Personally I wouldnt use it for a advert photo, but each to their own.

Me too.

Me and my friend called ourselves the "Flying Bananas"!!

I think our tricks were pretty impressive! We had routines and everything. The ponies just humoured us. LOL

I think they are trying to show that the horses are well mannered in a bomb proof, family pony kind of way.

I must admit it does look kinda odd in amongst standard adverts.

Your posts do make me smile sometimes! [ QUOTE ]

I saw the adverts and thought "odd". But then again not exactly a skill I'm looking for in a horse, I'm not sure I'd balance that well round Monk Bretton.

As for the chestnut the more concerning issue is that they are cantering and jumping it when it is holding all that weight!!!!
The last little horse is only 1 and a half - where is the rush!!!!!
It looks so under developed!!

ha ha that grey mare doesn't look too impressed at being stood on tho does she?

I used to do all sorts of thing with my pony too, I could leapfrog on him and slide off his bum, lay underneath him with my head on his back feet etc he was a star!

I used to win loads of family pony classes with him doing stuff like that in my individual display

Feel a bit sorry for the one year old being sat on and ridden? around the stable, it's a bit young if you ask me
The chestnut looks almost like its being chased in the video clip...
Don't really have a problem with someone standing on their horse, think its a little odd to use those photos to try to sell the horses though.
