Why?!

HATE seeing older horses up for rehoming. It's given you all those years of enjoyment- the most you can do is provide a home for life, or if you can't do that, PTS.

All our animals have always been with us for life. I had Misty for almost 12 years, for about 8 of those she was fully/pretty much fully retired. I wouldn't have parted with her even if I'd been offered a million pounds. She was beyond priceless to me.

I'm another who doesn't like seeing 30 year old horses being advertised to go to new homes, however from the other side of the coin I have given the final home to a number of old horses such as this and although I sometimes struggle to understand why the previous owner does not, it really doesn't take away from the warm feeling I get when I take them and give them a nice life. Most of the ones I've taken can still be ridden so I do keep them going out and about occasionally. As I've said in other posts recently, many horses in the country I live in are still sound and regularly ridden at 30 years old so some do end up in nice homes where they are cherished in their final years.
