Apologies - I know there have been a few of these lately but I'm trying to sell a cracking little mare to no avail - please take a look at my ad and let me know if anything would put you off!

Thankies

Plenty info and good photo. Maybe only missing whether she is an experienced or novice ride as at her height some people will be thinking more childrens pony. Traffic, shoe catch etc. I know your maybe aiming more to a strictly showing home with the ad but no point in putting off any other types.

Pretty much what I thought - looks like an adult riding her so could be worth saying she could be ridden by either? she does look lovely btw - and I would have estimated at least another couple of hands if I hadn't seen her height!

I can't see anything properley wrong with it but I know when I was looking for a horse I got annoyed when people had a photo with loads of white around it (just scanned in or something?).

Copy it into Paint or something and cut the white bits off.

PRESENTATION, PRESENTATION, PRESENTATION (As my dad always nags me

)

And maybe add another picture or two? Maybe one jumping and one just standing?

It may sound a bit pernickity and may not improve your chances but it will look like you've put effort into it.

Hope this helps and good luck selling your gorgeous pony

Your not the only one, my eventer isn't selling either, despite the price now being alot less than what she is worth, havn't really had any interest, except for a man who blatantly had no idea about horses at all, and couldn't understand how an event horse was different to a showjumper! ive tried H&H and horsequest to no avail.

you don't say where you are either. I got so fed up of horses being too far away I didn't bother calling at all if it did not say where

Nice pony, good price. But people are reluctant to buy at this time of year due to costs through winter. I think now is a geat time, lets you have a few months getting to know each other before next season. Good luck, she looks very nice

Thanks for all of your responses - I really don't want to drop the price, I've dropped it already - that's really my bare minimum, I think (and my producer agrees) that she's a bargain.
She is anybody's ride and very straightforward nd unflappable so maybe I should add that, I'd rather she went to be an allrounder to be honest as I feel she'd have more fun than being kept purely for showing. The ad mainly focuses on showing as that's all she's competed in (apart from one unaff. dressage 6 weeks after she was broken!).
With regard to where I am I never really thought about it to be honest - the last 2 I have bought were a 4 hour drive to the Highlands of Scotland and a 6 hour drive to the depths of Wales!! But maybe some people aren't as keen (or mad) as me

Well it looks like I'll have to rough her off for the Winter and readvertise in the Spring I hope things have picked up by then.

Nice pony, good photo, good description, reasonable price. Have you tried putting her on Horsequest - I know a lot of showing people look on there, plus you have much more room for extra photos and description than is available on H&H.

I was going to say she is welsh, she is lovely she will make someone a fab all round PC pony with showing thrown in and prob has a good pop in her waiting to come out but the ad doesnt really help that with ridden by kids/good on road etc.

I wouldnt want to sell her for much less.

edt to say get her out doing some low SJ and some dressage over the winter and you def won't struggle.

Your making the market too narrow as that advert will only attract showing people. Completly re-word the advert and you will get the calls flooding in as she does sound/look a real gem.

Something like

This pony will be a fabulous allrounder , she is completly safe and unflappable and will look after any rider (?) She has been jumping small courses beautifully and has been placed at every showing show she has done and qualifeid for HOYS etc. Will do a lovely dressage test. Fantastic safe hack, very easy to do, a real gem of a pony.

I know it sounds OTT with the emotive language but people do respond to that, and anyway, she does look super!

^^ That is much more grabbing wording!

If you can get a pic of a child on her, crop the one you are using etc that might helps. She looks lovely.

The only other thing is that her Title comes up as WELSH SEC - but not what Section, sure I know and prospective buyers should know but it just irks me!

I think the fact her jumping is pretty basic for a 6 year old - can't remember exact wording but just starting or something - would put many off in the market for a childs pony. She does seem mainly marketed at showing from your ad which narrows your target audience. If you could make her sound more of an allrounder. Also has she been ridden by children? There are limited number of adults that could ride a 13.2hh and sometimes it is not easy for a child to take over a pony that has been ridden by an adult - especially a good adult!

She does look a lovely pony though and I agree you would not want to go much lower.

Now we've just started looking, and admittedly as my daughter (10, competent rider, ridden since 4, looks like a 13 year old) is almost 5ft 2(!) I'm really looking 14-14.2 so she gets 1 pony for keeps rather than having to get bigger in a couple of years.
I can agree entirely with what's been said above, I did think your pony looked very nice but 2 main things put me off your ad when I saw it aside from being 13.2 as opposed to 14.2 - decided we'd look bigger first . I'd consider smaller if we could 'hide' leg length! Difficult to tell from your photo as the rider looks smallish and skinny but is too far away to see properly:

1) no location, and no phone number I could work it out from, don't really want to treck more than 2-3 hours away as will have to drag daughter's instructor along too

2) daughter loves jumping and I felt this was a 'showing' pony, was concerned about the lack of jumping (how good is it?) . A jumping picture esp with a child on as after all it's a child's pony would have helped show jumping potential, the picture shown is small and just compliments the wording you've put but doesn't explain your pony's all rounded-ness.

Also is it a registered SecC I assume, or just Welsh or even Welsh type with no Welsh papers?

Do feel free to pm me with more detail if you're not too far away and you think suitable - am away from computer for the rest of today.
