I dont think anyone realised how nervous i was today. I know snoopy is honest and will take most things on but after walking that course i did wonder if i had bitten off more than i could chew.
Our dressage wasnt until 2:24, the event is only 20 minutes from home so we left just after 12 and arrived in plenty of time.
Hopped on and worked in, it was stifling hot so kept working in to a minimum.
Once into the arena he was a bit more fresh, i think i rode it too fast tbh, and it reflected in my marks. Judge commented *smashing horse, just needs to slow the rhythm* which Madmare reminds me lol We did lose our balance in the final down the center line, so extra studs needed to be added for the sjing.
Anyway a good score of 38.5 not bad best in my section was 31 so not far off.
On to sjing, after nearly 3 hours wait *yawn* it was seriously up to height but was jumping well, the last fence was falling often, but tbh i was just pleased to get him round.
He warmed up in his usual enthusiastic way and i managed to boot out one fence which did him the power of good.
In to the arena he wasnt going to touch a pole and did a smashing clear round, although not as fluent as Addington last week, i was chuffed to bits as i was completely wrong to fence 7 bloody big oxer but he helped me out, and we jumped clear WOO HOO.
Now slightly nervous as they said so and so into the lead in my section on 39.5 which meant if i went clear i would win - no pressure then.
Poor Spotted Cat was waiting around for 30 minutes for her xc, but when i was due to go they were calling for ppl to get there!!
So went slightly before my time, he warmed up well, and we were off, the first few fences are nice but up to height he stormed those until 4 when he went OMG!!! but a kick and away he went - he hit the hayrack hard with his paws but managed to stay upright.
Kicked on to the hedge oxer but he jumped that super and popped off the drop, i literally only had one rein and just pulled the buckle on the right and bless his cottons he jumped the skinny although i took the flag, i was dead proud of him, his honesty, he then flew the next big hanging log going down hill.
The next few fences were fairly straightforward and back to normal nice PN height but he went green on me and got underneath the next 4 fences, i gave him a slap before the Quarry and that just did the trick, jumped that in fine style. Through the water he walked in and trotted out then he was off again, and jumped the remainder in snoopy style WOO HOO.
I was chuffed to bits with him the read out that we had come 9th, so got all dressage up for the prize giving to find out we finished 11th - again 0.9 penalties away from 10th.
On our dressage alone we would have been 4th, so I am so so so pleased with him.
Mrs T and KatB were the best, without Mrs T to say *hey chill girl and KatB telling me to breath* i dont think i would have made it round the sjing lol and i really could leave them to do snoop.
So huge thank you to them.
The funniest was Molinuex and Lotty going round in a car following my xc lol although they had to stop to put up the flag i knocked out lol
Off to BCA next week, i hope it will be slightly smaller lol but snoop was a star! thats two 11ths now lol we're NEARLY there lol
Thanks for reading.
