Wide (balance) stirrup leathers - worth it?

Just looking honest reviews from those who have them or have tried them. I need new leathers as mine are fairly rough leather and I don’t want it scratching my saddle. If I’m going to get some I’ll get them from the same brand and leather so I have to choose wide or not (wide is 55 more)
