My boy is rather wide across the chest. His turnout rugs are ok - he has a wetherbeeta and a derby house LW 5'9" which fit really well. But I bought him a weatherbeeta jasper lite stable rug in 5'9" and it's come up a bit small and tight across the chest - I think because it doesn't have the vents over the front legs. Any recommendations for stable rugs that are a bit broader in the chest. Am considering a chest expander for the current rug - are they OK? Rugs have to be LW as he's a warm boy!

Cheers

:)

We've always found weatherbeeta great for out wide chested lad. Although his stable rug is Mark Todd. (Inherited from previous owner - longest lasting rug I've ever had!)

You could try Robinsons. They do come up small so we've found a 6' from Robinsons will fit our normally 5'9 wide lad just fine. They're cheap and won't last - but cover all the bits.

I've always found Mark Todd rugs to be very generous. Avoid Amigo, Rambo and Rhinos as they can be narrow around the chest and don't seem very deep on the deeper horse.
