wide saddle help needed

I am riding my newly broken 3 yr old in a Thorowgood Cob saddle, with an extra wide gullet, but am finding it a "stretch" in the saddle for me with this width. Is this a problem others have? I hope to replace this saddle a little later. Can I have any reccomendations for wide saddles with a better "twist" to make it easier for the rider to sit in them?

I have the same problem with a wide saddle and tight hips. I've just ordered a hip saver from the EE website which you put on top of your saddle and it makes the saddle seem as if it has a narrower twist. I'll let you know if it works.

Both my horses are xx wide with huge bull like shoulders. I bought a TG cob xxw to break the youngster and found it really uncomfortable - far too wide for my hips.
I have a GFS event xw and a new Barnsby haflinger /cob saddle in xxw and both of them ae very comfortable
You can get very wide saddles that don't try and dislocate your hips.

I was recommended a wintex wide xtra wide as saddler said it didnt feel as wide to the rider
if that makes any sense !

I have a Wintec wide for my Highland and agree it does make her feel narrower, no sore hips and a nice deep seat.

I have a Wintec cob too and find it almost as comfortable as the Wintec 500 (which I love)
