Wide stirrup leathers

Sorry I have been down a rabbit hole over these type of leathers. Which are the best quality? Is it worth investing in a more expensive pair or will the ebay ones suffice? Thank you.
 
Personally I don't think it's worth taking a risk with a vulnerable safety item. It's interesting though, with these wider leathers, that we all need a different amount of bulk under our legs to not add to instability, so trying single thickness of yours are thick, or vice versa is a good idea. Also the saddle design and how well the seat and waist fit our pelvis and hips are the bigger factors in leg stability - plus how well that set up works on a particular shape of ribcage. The same set up can work less well on a different shaped horse.

So, they can help for sure, sometimes a lot, but often aren't addressing why a leg may be unstable.

We have the Lemieux ones, which are nice, particularly useful for one of my daughters who is hypermobile, the added stability helps prevent over-extension.

Thank you - our local saddler sells Lemieux so I will pop in this week and take a look
