Wierd lump

Just after a bit off advice. On Weds eve when lungeing Ruby she spooked and ran straight into a jump. She tried to jump and landed on the block. She was fine after and I checked for heat, swelling etc. All was fine. Yesterday I noticed she has a lump on her leg, shes not lame or bothered by it at all. I was able to touch it and it was firm but a lil squidgy. I cold hosed it for 15 mins and it went down slightly. The vet is up on Thurs anyway as she is due for jabs. If it gets any worse I will get him out before. What do you think it is?
 
Update on lump.

She is not lame or shows any sign off pain. I have been cold hosing it for 15 mins every day and then walking her for 10 mins in the sand school. It appeared to have gone down a little but then yesterday looked a bit more swollen again. A little warmish. Still squigey, I have the vet up on Thurs to do jabs and I will ask him what he thinks the lump is. If she appears lame or it starts to hurt her then I will call the vet out before.

What do you think it is?
 
It could be a fluid pocket. Is near a joint?
I'd advise you to have a vet look, because if it is fluid it can be easily drained where if you leave it to become solid it can't.
I worked with a horse who knocked his hind leg in a lorry, the owner didn't want to pay vet bills to get his hock drained and it left him with a capped hock!
It might be nothing, but its worth getting it checked!

Yes it is above her hock joint. Slightly further up though. I think it is a fluid pocket. How long does it take for it too become too firm to treat?
 
I'm not 100% sure on the time limits. It might be better to ring your vets for his opinion and if he'll be ok till thurs, when he's out anyway!
 
Thanks for your help, I will give him a call after work and see what he says. By Thurs she wouldv'e had the lump for a week. But I could always move the jabs forward a couple off days and get both sorted at the same time.

Just got off the phone with the vet. He said that as long as it wasn't on her joint and wasn't causing any pain or lameness. To keep on cold hosing and light work on soft ground until Thurs when he will look at it then. He said does sound like a build up off fluid though. He also said depending on size and location it can sometimes disspear on its own, with hosing, lightwork and massaging. So I'm hoping thats going to be the case for my mare. If it gets any bigger (currently the size of a golf ball) or seems to be causing her pain I will get him out ASAP to drain it. *fingers crossed it goes away*
