So, who is close to one??? When do they come out...who is waiting in anticipation?????... is everyone totting up scores from each regional??

So, in reality how do they work them out, do they have 20 in each class??? Maybe someone on this forum can tell us how exactly they do it.... I know it is the highest percentage who did not qualify but how do they how many to put through??? ....Sure someone on this forum is in the know how from BD!!!!!!!!!!

HI FREESTYLER,

Thought we may be in for a shout but looking at the results from Kingston Mauward, I think it is unlikely. As it stand at the moment we would need 10 wild cards to get through. Also, the Scottish Regionals are this coming weekend.

I don't know how BD decides on the numbers of wild cards.

Never mind - now aim for the summers!

You are right, we will just have to wait and see.

As the Scottish Regionals are this weekend, I guess the wild cards will be out by the end of next week with any luck.

Depending how desperate you are to know, go on the website. look at the times each class is down to start from/to. Then find out how long they recommend the organisers to allow for each horse going through. Then you can calculate the number of people per class, then work out who's already qualified!!

Although as they are running some new classes this year maybe there will be fewer wildcards. I think it only tends to be about 5 per class.

Did you not mention in a recent post that there would be NO mention of wildcards this year!!
You are obsessed woman.
Relax and go and stroke your rosette or something.

(tongue firmly in cheek BTW)

Rachelskeff and I came tie second at the areas so we're hoping to get a wildcard but not sure it will happen. My worry is if I am lucky enough it might arrive when I am away in SA, anyone know when they usually send them out?

Wildcards for the Winter Championships will be done when the results from the Scottish Regional have been received in the office and checked - so mid next week.

They are very simply the highest non qualified scores from across all the Regionals. The numbers available will depend on the numbers that have gone through direct according to the starters in each Regional. The usual aim is to have 5 or 6 wildcard places per class to allocate - but if there are a large number of starters in a class, or a class is split, then more go through direct. Conversely, if there are fewer than expected starters, then more wildcards are available.

For the Petplan Equine Area Festival Championships the situation is different. Wildcards for that are allocated after entries have been received from those qualified by right, Which is why entries for these classes close on 2 March. Anyone qualified for the AF Champs who has not sent in their entry DO IT NOW! Entries received after the closing date will NOT be accepted as the wildcards will then be offered to fill the classes.
