Is there such a thing as a wilkie snaffle with a lozenge? My mare needs something with a tiny bit more leverage than just a general loose ring snaffle but not as much as a gag so a wilkie type bit is ideal but it needs to be double jointed with a lozenge/peanut in the centre as she just doesnt accept single jointed bits.

many thanks for your help

edited to say: do the looped snaffles or Wilkie "look a likes" have similar action to the original Wilkies?

The original "wilkie snaffle" was made by mr wilkinson at fylde saddlery, he can make you one, i had one made with happy mouth and bigger rings.

thanks Kerilli but i think it will be too big for madam who has a weeny mouth! she's a 5" in her snaffle and a 4 3/4" in her gag! v small for a 16hh horse!

or would it fit with biscuits on it do you think? because id love to try one without having to commit to buying one if it doesnt work!

A loop ring snaffle is very similar, just that the loop where the cheek piece goes is inside the biggest ring, not outside like on a wilkie. A loop ring costs about £15 and you can get french link ones
