I'm presuming if you put the cheek pieces through the loop at the top, and the reins just as normal, its like a normal snaffle???

Yep right with reins, not quite a normal snaffle as you then get a slight gag action-hence why not dressgae legal! Slightly more than a drop snaffle

I Sj my horse in one, the loops keep the bit steady in the mouth and help with steering and there is slight poll pressure.

We use one for endurance, the bridle through the top loop and the reins through the bottom loop.....
