Hiya! Just wondering if anyone knows whether a 16.2h Trakehner will fit in a 7ft high horsebox? I've seen a really nice lorry I want but I cant remember what the height of mine is and I really want to call today! Anyone got experience of travelling with this ?

Might struggle a bit? My box is 7'4" and my boy is 15.1hh (although a reallllllly lovely long neck!) and just manages in mine. I measured my friend's Ifor Williams trailer, which seems to do nicely for taller horses, and I think that had more headroom than my box.

Hmmmm Ive got a ford tranny ATM and he fits in there fine with about half a foot headroom but I can't remember for love nor money the height! So annoying! Thanks guys

I wouldnt to be honest.
My 16.2hh ears touched the roof of a IW505, my last horsebox had 7'6 headroom and I wouldnt go any lower with my horse. My friend however puts her 16.3 in a IW505.

I have a 16.2 Irish Draft and he fits in my 7ft high Rice Trailer, but only just really. When I get some money together I will be swapping it for a taller one. You may end up wishing you had done the same if you go for this lorry.

My 17.2hhish Selle Francais fits in a ifor 505. He has a fairly short neck tho, and is a very sensible traveller. As someone said, they are 7'1'' high, and i wouldnt want to go smaller. depends on the horse though really. Is he a good traveller? does he have a long neck?

hope this helps

My lad who is 16.3 has 8'6" height but also requires a forward facing lorry as he is so LONG!
