I’m a jockey and I eat more apples than most horses
Norwegian-born British jockey, Will Buick, consumes 21 apples a week to help him fuel for the flat racing season
Gifted article so free to read.
Genuine question - in what way and by what sort of margins do you think their performance would improve, if they ate the same calories but in a different way? Jockeys seem pretty fit to me, and they often put in in really long days.I think it’s appalling when you consider how much research has gone into nutrition, let alone nutrition of elite athletes. In most other sports this would be completely unacceptable. Racing really is stuck in the dark ages.
The cynical bit of me wonders how real it isThe article timed out before I could read it all but it sounds an improvement on purging and running in a bin bag to sweat off the weight?
