Ive just bought a new horse and as far as i know he hasnt had speedi beet (SP) before. He has only been fed pony mix for the last 6 years aparently, if i make speedi beet for him would it harm him in any way?

How would i build him onto it?

Thanks

Like any change of feed do it gradually. Just a small handfull (soaked) mixed in with his usual feed. Take about a week to introduce new feed.

Have you fed it to other neds C&S? Just to remind that it has to be thoroughly soaked and on cold, cold days, I'd give at least half an hour. I make mine quite wet too just to make absolutely sure there are no whole flakes that could cause problems x

I like to boil the speedi beet, give it the 10-15mins then feed it when its cooled off and its just warm. I just like the thought of giving P a nice warm feed.
It shouldn't cause colic as long as it is thoroughly soaked
