My 3 year old welsh d is 14.3hh just at bum and 14.2hh at withers he is just 3 years old and i bought expecting him to make 15.2hh, i am 5'7 do you think i will look stupid on him because don't really want to sell him as bought him when he was a proper baby as needed new one to ride.
And will he make 15hh or not?

Hi i have a welsh cross (appy) who is 15hh at the bum and 14.3hh at the withers and he has just turned 3. we expect him to make 15.2hh though he is quite physically immature for his age (looks more like a young 2 year old)
Welshes are quite slow to mature so i expect he could still make 15.1hh plus. is he quite leggy for his age?
I am 5ft6 and i look ok on my 15hh very fine tb, you should be fine :) especially as welshes are quite muscley so will take up more leg room :)

Wouldn't say he is too leggy but is sarting to fill out, dentist said looks like hes 2.5 years looking in his mouth but he def 3 so maybe still slightly immature

Welshies can take a long time to mature so don't give up hope yet! If he's 14.3 now he hasn't got much to find. They often ride bigger than they look, my sec D is 15.2-15.3 ish and I am 5'11, and I don't look huge on him.

Once welsh cobs are mature then tend to be deep chested and take up alot of leg, I reckon you will look just fine.
Do you know the dam and sire's height? If he is only 3 there is a very good chance he will grow upwards some more

as long as hes strong enough, wich im sure he will be he should be fine, my friend rides my 14.2 pony hes quite strong conemarra and shes v tall and doesnt look to silly:)
