I have just bought a TB x ID he has just turned 4 and is currently 16.1hh but everyone keeps asking how big is he going to make but i didn't think he would have any more growing to do he doesn't look babyish at all compared to my 5 year old welsh d who you can tell is only young straight away.
So what do you think will he have already finished or is he gonna end up too big to go in my trailer?

as long as he stays below the 17hh mark i will be ok i never even really thought about him growing any more bit of a just to the 15hh welsh i am used to!

My first pony was 5 when i bought him. Although there was some discrepancy over his age.

He didn't have a passport when i bought him (It wasn't a legal requirement then). The vet and dentist couldn't decide what age his teeth suggested - They'd never been done, and suggested he was 4, Until you got right to the back and they suggested closer to 6.

Anyhow, He was 14hh when i bought him, And 14.1 about 6 months later after muscling up a bit and filling out properly, good feed etc.

Growth plates don't close until a horse is 8, however most horses don't tend to grow in height after 5, they fill out which makes them look bigger. So you might yet get another inch.....
