will he start to eat the hay?

currently trying to change my horse from haylage to hay as our haylage is a very very rich type and i believe its making him fizzy and fat! last couple of nights he has not touched his hay and eaten his straw bed instead! if i persist with feeding the hay, will he start to eat it? its good quality, not dusty. will get something to apply to his bed to stop him eating that

Could you remove it more gradually? Mix the hay with the hayledge, and slowly phase out the hayledge? I did this with my horse & it worked a treat.

i would mix the hay with haylage gradually over a few days making hay the prominent in the net! he will adjust slowly! otherwise he will just go hungry and be thankful for the hay in a few more days! spray his straw bed with dilute jeyes! he wont waste away for a few days of light diet!
