Will I get it or should I remove it (saddle)

I have listed my stubben saddle on ebay - it cost me £1295 new (it is still new, only ridden in once, but looks brand new), and I listed it without reserve, starting price 99p. It has been bid up to £410 with about 20hrs left to go. I will probaby forget to check it in the morning, so keep looking at it now, wondering if I should remove it or just prey it goes for more. I would ideally like it to make about £600 - what are the chances of it getting there?? Help! What do I do?
 
I would keep an eye on it tonight if you can and watch the bidding, if you are not happy with how it is going then take it off. I would be surprised if the bidding didn't fly up in the last few hours but I am a bit out of touch now! Good luck with it!
 
I have listed a saddle on ebay also. It cost me over £600 and only used it 5 times, so mine looks brand new also! English leather etc. I have had it on ebay before at £250 start (I prefer to do that than start at 99p with a reserve) and had some interest but no bids. I have advertised in local tack shops, but no interest at all. It is back on ebay for £150 start with 9 watchers, so hoping it will go now (need the money).
TBH, you will never get alot for 2nd hand saddles, no matter how well looked after they are! And why didn't you start it on a Sunday evening? Its a well known fact, that you will get more interest and more bids on something if you start it on Sunday after 8pm, that way it will finish the following Sunday at 8pm, when watchers/bidders are at home, looking on the net!!
I would leave it. I don't think you can remove it after 24 hrs, especially if you have bids on it! I know £400 is not what your looking for, but I doubt you will get £600... but hey, you never know!??
I'm happy to get £200 for mine now. Thats a loss of £400, but hey £200 is better than saddle gathering dust, loosing more value!!

Tricky. It may not go much higher, depends how many watchers you have, but then they may only be watchers rather than bidders.

Its a bit naughty to remove it, & not sure you can with less than 24 hours left. I think I'd have started the listing higher or done a BIT price. (I know it costs more, but not as much as you may loose.)
 
If you can't add a reserve I'd be tempted to remove it & re-list with a reserve but it might suddenly shoot up if you're lucky. the only thing is if the add ends early on a working day less people may be able to check / bid on it. I usually try to make sure I load stuff about the time I want the add to end (evenings for horsey stuff).
Anyway, good luck on getting as much as possible for it.
 
I sold 2 wintec saddles on ebay just recently, and all the biding was in the last hour!!

However, I was fairly confident that I would get late bidders as there were masses of people watching (if you go to 'my ebay' it will show how many people are watching). Additionally, several people had contacted me to see if I would do a 'buy it now' price.

If there aren't many watchers definitely remove and relist with a reserve as the saddle you are selling has a more limited market than those I was selling. Put in a sensible reserve that you would be happy with and be prepared to relist several times.

It's a tough one, as I never look at ebay at the weekends (only when I am at work) and in the past I have always found things listed during working hours have sold better. I can remove it (I checked) if I need to. It is literally brand new - still have the tags etc. It costs so much on ebay to put a reserve on, or list it at anything over £50, so I took gamble I guess - £410 (what its at at the moment) isn't bad but I had hoped for a bit more. Not sure whether to advertise in the paper/tack shop etc or just let it go for what it makes.
 
I've just found it. You're brave putting it on at 99p! I put my saddles on with minimum starting prices and mine didn't get any bids, so you've got the ball rolling at least by doing that with yours!

A lot of ebay bids usually come in at the end, so it's perfectly possible you'll get the £600. Are you able to withdraw the saddle just before the end of the auction if you're not happy?

What you are proposing is called shill bidding, it is against Ebays rules & I think it is actually illegal. If you are caught or reported to Ebay they will suspend your account etc.

Either remove the saddle from auction & relist with a reserve or let it run. It's silly puting an expensive item on an auction without a reserve when you specifically want a minimum amount for it.

Thats a bit wrong!!

You listed the saddle with a start fee of 99p so really you should just go with it, you'll of had days (unless listed as a very short auction) to of sorted it out, or where you trying to just play the system & not inccur high listing fee's hence the 99p start??

You can remove items but you have to state to Ebay why the item has to be removed.
TBH if i had bid on said saddle (which i havent & have no intention of btw) & the seller removed the listing & relisted there's no way i would bid again.
 
TBH I think a lot of people do it, and I know I've had it done to me in the past. Anyway, it is irrelevant now, as I have decided the saddle must go whatever, and last I checked the bid was £460 which I am not happy with, but would accept, so I wont be pulling it from auction.
 
One your reserve has been met you cant delete it im afraid. Can you get a friend with am account bid on it for you to bump it up, I know your allowed to but im sure everyone does it.
 
To be honest....
Its tough what it goes for, if you not willing to put a reserver on it its not the buyers fault, buyers could get annoyed if you take it off now, I know I would.

So, wait and see.
 
Be very careful - if you get you Oh or a friend to bid for it it is in effect shil bidding and is as such fraud. Therefore illegal and ebay are pretty hot on it. As you have stated in a public forum that this is what you could do there is quite possibly someone on here who could report you to ebay and you would be in a real mess legally.
