Hello :)

My xc colours are navy and cerise pink (navy with pink stars on the arms) and I have been trying to find a cerise (hot) pink tape to secure my WW boots but can't find any online anywhere! So, I got a Robinsons catalogue yesterday and found these in hot pink:

So cute, but I am 25 years old will I look like an idiot?! LOL I just want to add a bit more colour to our outfit ;)

Go on be honest :D

They are awesome and who gives a stuff what other people think. I have a bit of a thing for hot pink as well and my girl had lots of bright pink stuff (looked ace on her as she was dark bay). I did get some funny looks and comments but I just didn't care. My horse, my choice. She doesn't care what colour the stuff is :)

We did frequently get children crying 'mooi paard!' (pretty horse) when we were hacking out though which was funny, think they liked the pink.

I love a splash of pink and I'm older than you!!! It's a pity actually because premier equine recenly had a sale on and they had eventing boots with pink air vents and no turn over reach boots in pink in the sale!! Sorry have checked and all sold, although you may find some on ebay or something???

Nah, just enough protection there against brushing incidents - you hit a log and they won't take it :(

If you have cross-country/all-round Woof Wear ones then....:p:rolleyes:

Um. Ring WW and ask if you can put pink nail varnish on them...???

Right. I'm going back to work now :D:eek:

It could just be me, but i don't really get the not enought protection, when your saying go for the WW one's ( i'm guessing you mean the WW brushing boots?) if so, if so then these have a hard strike pad where as WW doesn't. Also i have seen a few people go XC in these and there fine.

I have a pair of the fab neon green brushing boots! They're now..... at least 3-4yrs old? And actually look like new! They've been around somerford farm ride and all sorts, on my mare - we jumped a fair heigh then too :D And now get worn by my clumsy gelding.
Tbh, I think it depends what sort of course you'll be jumping? And what your horse is like. Dante still does the odd XC thing in bog standard Requisit brushing boots (although not those ones, they're made of slightly different stuff?) and they've took some hefty knocks as Dan's idea of jumping is hit it and see if it'll fall down first.... he's never had an issue though!
Enough horses still hunt and all sorts without boots after all ;)

Ohh are they from Robinsons?

We'll only be jumping 2ft 9 maximum, local RC stuff! Nothing fairly hefty

This is very true, good point!

IS it really bad that I am thinking what colour will go with out outfit rather than the protection it gives, lol?! :-/

I take XC colours to the next level of ridiculosity, and my only embarrassing moment thus far was hacking to a competition down the road, riding and leading my two (friend waiting at competition to warm one up for me!) and wearing:

Black XC top with purple starts on arms, front and back
Black Racesafe body protector with purple stars on front and back
Matching hat silk complete with purple pom pom
Purple and black gloves
Purple and black XC whip
Purple and black matching numnahs on both horses
Purple and black boots on both horses

I passed a group of ramblers who said "do you always ride dressed like that?!" and I had to explain that I was not in fact a complete ****** prancing around in a haze of purple and black, I was off competing....don't think they believed me!

Yep, they're the robinsons ones :) They're actually quite tough, although they lack the same level of protection as special XC boots, but then if like me you can't afford to fork out for special XC boots (especially if you aren't doing BE every week!!) then surely something is better than nothing? If your horse is fairly careful anyway, I think it'll be fine, although possibly a bit embarassed about the pinkness ;)
