All going well, Hattie will be put in foal in May and have the baby April 08. Now I would prefer her to foal in the field as she is not very happy in a stable. I have a huge stable she can go in if needs be.
The plan is to put the trailer in the field, nicer than a tent, and stay in that when she is due. With the shogun in case I get cold, the seat go right back so I could sleep in it.
But watching this foal cam, I wouldn't be able to see Hattie unless she is right next to the trailer so would it work using a spot light running on a car battery attached either to the trailer or the field shelter and one in the field shelter in case she decides to foal in there. Obviously I will ask the neighbours if they mind a light on all the time over night, can't be worse than a street light though.
Do you think it will work? It should light up most of the field. I don't really want to shine a torch at her every hour to check she hasn't started yet.
