My 4 year old cob suffered from lawsonia intracellularis which caused swelling to his face and a huge amount of protein loss, he was in intensive care (see my previous threads), his protein is now stable however he is suffering from anemia (improving weekly and not far off normal now).
My question is that, considering he has been very poorly since April, will this stunt his growth and development? I am aware that lawsonia is very uncommon in anything older than a yearling but I am interested to know whether anyone who has a foal/adult horse that suffered from lawsonia or anemia has noticed a stunt in their growth?
Thanks
