i left 3 chocolate bars on my bedside table (and closed the door), and when i came back from feeding the horses i found my dog polishing off the last bar- she had eaten the 3 bars of chocolate (she pushed open the door). she is only a little dog (JRT). we dont give her chocolate as i know it is bad for dogs, but will she be ok now? is there anything i should do (by the way, she seems fine at the moment)?

Just monitor her for vomitting and diarroeah, dogs have to eat fairly large quantities of chocolate for it to be deadly.
I'm sure she'll be OK. My border terrier ate a large Suchard chocolate easter egg one year and she was fine!!!

should be fine to be honest. I would just feed her light meals - something like rice and chicken for the next couple of days to help her stomach. I used to be a vet nurse and we would normally feed a dog charcoal to get them to vomit. Does work but would not suggest crushing down fire coal and tipping it down your dogs neck for that effect.
Most of the times dogs are pretty ok with it. Just bad tummies for a couple of days really and prob slight tummy ache. Doesnt stop them though - my mums cocker managed to get into the lounge one night and eat two whole easter eggs - foil too...! Vet said all ok - and we could at least find where he had gone to the toliet alot easier the following days! :0)
